MagFest 2023

Hi, this is Matt, the lead developer behind MerFight. MerFight was shown at this year’s MagFest, and I wanted to just give a shout and say thank you to anyone who took the time to stop by and play the game, especially if you played at MagFest Versus or in the MagFest Tournament -- I think our largest (and possibly first) local tournament ever! Between concerts, the arcade, the marketplace, panels,the BYOC section, and other indie games, it means a lot that people took time to come by and play the game. I also wanted to say thanks to the MIVS staff for giving MerFight the oppurtunity to be shown at the event as well as their hard work and dedication.

I'm also glad I could finally put some faces to the names of players who have supported the game for quite some time such as Dragon Charlz and Coderius.

Finally, I wanted to give a special thanks to MohastGridlock, MerFight’s Community Manager, who traveled quite some distance to help. I really appreciate him doing so, and think the event would have been a lot more stressful and less enjoyable had I been there solo, so thanks again to him for doing that. Anyway, MagFest, though tiring, was a great event and has filled me with a lot of inspiration and motivation to continue developing MerFight. There will be various tournaments this year as well as updates to the game as I get closer and closer to having the game leave early access so stay tuned.
